Learn moreSince 2009, October has been designated Menopause Awareness Month by the International Menopause Society in partnership with the World Health Organisation. The month incorporates World Menopause Day on 18 October.
Its origins lie in breaking the silence around menopause, challenging stigma, and encouraging awareness of symptoms and treatment options. The initiative aims to empower individuals and organisations to provide informed support, especially in work environments where many experience menopausal symptoms yet often feel unsupported.
The International Menopause Society offers a wealth of free resources to help organisations mark World Menopause Month. Many businesses also use it to launch menopause awareness training to educate employees and managers on menopause issues and workplace adjustments.
Hosting keynote speakers or expert panels can also help raise the profile of the topic, encourage open discussions, and highlights the importance of supportive policies.
