FCA COCON 1.1.7FR marks an important development in how regulated firms need to think about workplace behaviour. From September 2026, conduct rule expectations in non-bank firms extend to serious bullying, harassment and violence towards colleagues where there is a sufficient work-related connection. This brings culture, conduct and people management even closer together.

For regulated firms, the challenge isn’t simply understanding the rules. It’s making sure people can apply them when situations are complicated – perhaps involving a high performer, an influential colleague or behaviour that people aren’t sure is serious enough to raise. Creating a respectful culture also helps people feel more confident challenging decisions, escalating concerns and speaking up.

Mix helps organisations turn FCA COCON 1.1.7FR expectations into everyday action. Through realistic scenarios, honest discussion and practical skills development, we enable colleagues and leaders to recognise non-financial misconduct, respond appropriately and understand the role they play in maintaining high standards of conduct and culture.

“Collaborating with Mix Diversity has been an extraordinary experience, defined by their deep expertise in diversity, equity, and inclusion and their profound understanding of the professional services sector...the partnership felt like a seamless extension of our team”.
"All sessions created great engagement across our business, but the leadership session was one of the most insightful I’ve been part of. Our leaders didn’t just show up, they leaned in. They shared personal stories. They asked tough questions. They were willing to sit in uncomfortable moments (including a couple of role plays!) because they know avoiding these conversations causes far more harm."
"You are doing such amazing work in the Diversity and Inclusion space. You are one of the few companies I have come across who really gets D&I in terms of both the importance but also in terms of what we can do about it. Thank you for working with us."

Turn FCA Rules Into Action

Help colleagues apply conduct expectations when real situations get complicated.

The Mix Difference

Real scenarios. Practical responses. Better decisions.

At Mix, we’re candid but kind. We create space for honest conversations about non-financial misconduct, without turning the subject into a compliance or blame exercise. People in financial services are used to regulation and accountability, so understanding the rules is rarely the challenge. The challenge is applying them when situations become complicated.

Through realistic scenarios and practical discussion, we explore what happens when inappropriate behaviour involves a high performer, power dynamics influence decisions or someone isn’t sure whether to speak up. We help colleagues understand their role in workplace culture and give managers practical opportunities to respond to concerns, challenge behaviour and handle difficult conversations.

Our focus is on turning FCA expectations into meaningful behaviour change. We can also work collaboratively with HR, Risk, Compliance, Legal and leadership teams, making sure learning reflects your organisation’s culture, governance priorities and the situations your people may encounter in practice.

What You’ll Get

Turning FCA expectations into everyday action

Our FCA non-financial misconduct training helps people understand what’s expected of them and, importantly, how to put those expectations into practice. Depending on your organisation, its people and priorities, learning can include:

  • A clear understanding of non-financial misconduct – exploring inappropriate workplace behaviour and what FCA expectations mean in practice.
  • Realistic workplace scenarios – examining situations involving high performers, influential colleagues, power dynamics and difficult judgement calls.
  • Greater confidence to speak up – helping colleagues recognise inappropriate behaviour, understand reporting routes and raise concerns earlier.
  • Practical skills for leaders – giving managers opportunities to practise responding to concerns, handling disclosures and challenging inappropriate behaviour.
  • Stronger understanding of workplace culture – exploring how individual and leadership behaviours can influence trust, psychological safety and accountability.
  • Confidence around escalation – helping people consider when concerns should be raised and how to respond appropriately.
  • Learning connected to your organisation – aligning training with your culture, governance priorities and the needs of HR, Risk, Compliance, Legal and leadership teams.

The aim is to move beyond understanding FCA requirements to creating meaningful behaviour change. By giving people opportunities to discuss, question and practise, we help build a culture where inappropriate behaviour is challenged earlier, colleagues feel more confident speaking up and leaders understand their responsibility for maintaining high standards of conduct.

From cascaded learning to executive coaching

Our FCA COCON 1.1.7FR training can be delivered as cascaded learning across your organisation, helping everyone understand what non-financial misconduct can look like and their role in maintaining high standards of conduct. We can combine workshops, eLearning and facilitated sessions through hybrid and blended learning solutions to reach people across different roles and locations.

Training can sit within a wider programme covering speak-up culture, bystander intervention, inclusive leadership, psychological safety, supervision and ethical decision-making. We can also support HR and ER teams through policy reviews, reporting and escalation routes, and fair investigation principles, connecting learning with the systems that support it.

For senior leaders, executive coaching provides a discrete way to develop the skills and confidence to model expected standards and respond effectively when concerns arise. Get in touch to discuss the right combination of solutions for your organisation.

The result is learning that feels practical, human and relevant, rather than simply compliance-focused.
