One of Ireland’s best known and well-loved TV hosts, his award-winning TV documentaries which tackled such areas as inclusive housing, ageism and health have triggered policy reform within the Irish Government’s Health Care systems and resulted in his ministerial appointment to the Department of Health’s executive advisory board.
Last year Brendan hosted Ireland’s first forum on Human Rights and Equality. He was invited by the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission to front the movement for greater recognition and protection of unpaid carers, he recently addressed the Irish Government asking for a commitment to consider the future for unpaid workers.
A leading and vocal public advocate of the 2015 Marriage Equality Referendum, he consistently leverages his profile to campaign for equality.
Brendan lives between his homes in London and Dublin, his dog Nancy-Drew is based in Dublin. A Transcendental Meditation practitioner, Brendan is also a qualified Animal Flow Instructor.
His professional journey began, as Ireland’s first openly Gay TV presenter. This, coupled with his personal story has led to him becoming an inspirational advocate for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (last year he was awarded a first-class honors Masters of Business in Equality, Diversity & Inclusion)
