Raina Brands is an award winning researcher, consultant and professor at University College London. She is an expert in social networks – informal relationships that are the heart of organizational life – and how these informal workplace networks can present hidden barriers to diversity and inclusion.

A core focus of her research is to understand how social networks shape individuals’ careers and to directly intervene in these processes to create more meritocratic and inclusive organizations. As an executive educator, she has developed targeted training to assist leaders – especially aspiring women and their allies – to build more effective networks and overcome stereotyping and bias.

Additionally, she teaches executives how to inspire change through cultural change relational architecture. Her work has been presented at leading international conferences and published in the top international journals in the field of management.

Raina’s work has also garnered international press coverage in the New York Times, The Financial Times, The Guardian, Harvard Business School, The Huffington Post and Glamour Magazine.
